The Johnson family had just moved into their new home, a beautiful Victorian house with a large front porch and a sprawling backyard. They were thrilled to finally have a place to call their own, but they soon realized that something was not right about the house.

Strange things began to happen almost immediately. Doors would slam shut on their own, objects would move seemingly by themselves, and eerie noises could be heard coming from empty rooms. The family tried to ignore these occurrences, chalking them up to the house settling or the wind, but they couldn't ignore the feeling of being watched.

One night, as the family gathered around the dinner table, they heard a loud crash coming from upstairs. Mr. Johnson went to investigate and found that a large portrait of the previous owner had fallen off the wall and shattered on the floor. He picked up the broken pieces and returned to the table, but as they began to eat again, they heard footsteps coming down the stairs.

The footsteps stopped at the bottom of the stairs, and the family could feel a cold breeze coming from the direction of the hallway. Suddenly, the portrait they had just cleaned up shattered once again, and the family screamed in terror as they saw the ghostly figure of the previous owner standing in front of them.

The ghostly figure spoke, warning the family that they were not welcome in the house and that they needed to leave immediately. The family frantically packed their belongings and left the house that very night, never to return again.

Years later, the Johnson family heard that the house had been torn down and replaced with a shopping center. But they never forgot the terrifying experience they had in the haunted house, and they made sure to warn others never to make the same mistake they did of buying a house
